NZFC finds marketing manager
The New Zealand Film Commission has appointed a new head of sales and marketing, James Thompson, after the loss of Kathleen Drumm to Screen Australia last year.
Thompson has been with the NZFC since 2006; the agency’s former NZFC’s business affairs executive, he was involved in financing and distribution arrangements and worked closely with Drumm on many international deals including Dean Spanley and Under the Mountain, with distributors such as Paramount, Buena Vista International and Miramax.
Announcing the appointment, CEO Graeme Mason emphasised the increasing importance of selling and marketing NZFC-supported films, and the changing nature of the area.
