NZMA and ADMA announce partnership
ADMA and NZMA are strengthening marketing capability in Australia and New Zealand via a new partnership.
The announcement:
Australia’s Association for Data-Driven Marketing & Advertising (ADMA) and the New Zealand Marketing Association (NZMA) have entered into a landmark agreement to strengthen marketing capability on both sides of the Tasman through a strategic and future-focused collaboration.
Under the agreement, NZMA will promote and endorse the ADMA Capability Compass across New Zealand, giving its members and the wider marketing community access to a data-driven solution to uncover, understand and elevate team skills. NZMA will also map its curriculum with ADMA’s 65-skill framework, ensuring consistency with industry standards.
Developed by ADMA with industry leaders, the Capability Compass gives New Zealand marketers access to a strategic, industry-specific skills assessment tool designed to benchmark capability, highlight strengths and guide investment in the skills that keep marketing teams ahead.
The ADMA Capability Compass evaluates 13 core marketing capabilities and 65 underlying skills across strategy, execution and analysis, giving leaders a clear view of strengths, gaps and opportunities at every team level. By benchmarking against industry standards and providing personalised recommendations and structured pathways, it helps CMOs and marketing leaders invest where it matters most – building future-ready teams that can adapt and thrive in a fast-changing market landscape.
Andrea Martens, CEO of ADMA, says: “Marketers across Australasia face the same challenge – building capability at the pace that change demands. This partnership with NZMA opens up access to ADMA’s world-leading Capability Compass for New Zealand marketing leaders, a vital step in giving them evidence-based clarity to understand skills, close gaps and make confident decisions about team development.
“This is central to ADMA’s vision of bringing marketers forward into the next era of marketing – equipping them with the tools to navigate what’s ahead. Together we’re creating a shared standard for capability that helps our profession move forward with clarity and impact.”
John Miles, CEO of NZMA, says: “Capability has always been central to what NZMA does. By endorsing the ADMA Capability Compass, we can give New Zealand marketers a proven framework to benchmark skills, identify gaps and plan with confidence. Working with ADMA ensures our members are aligned to the same standards as their Australian peers and ready for the opportunities ahead.”
With ADMA’s expertise in marketing capability and NZMA’s deep connection to New Zealand’s marketing community, the partnership promises to accelerate skills uplift and cement a unified vision of professional standards across Australasia.
