Offspring swells to above 800,000 as Masterchef wins the night

Ten’s Offspring has bounced back from last week’s audience of 742,000 with episode four watched by 845,000 metro viewers at at 8:40pm.

The local drama series was the second most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54) while Ten’s Masterchef was the most-watched show after pulling in 1.191m at 7:30pm.

The strong performance across both shows was not enough to secure a win for Ten, however, with Seven coming out on top with a share of 18.9%, while Ten grabbed 18.4%. Nine claimed third place with a share of 15.3% as the ABC managed a share of 11.7%.

Seven’s Border Security – Australia’s Front Line was watched by 767,000 viewers at 7:30pm while 755,000 tuned in to Seven’s The Force – Behind The Line at 8:00pm.

In the news hour, Nine News at 6:00pm grabbed 1.107m, sliding to 1.043m at 6:30pm while 1.047m tuned in to the 6:00pm Seven News, which slid to 944,000 from 6:30pm.

Nine’s A Current Affair, airing at 7:00pm, attracted 835,000.

On the ABC, 7.30 was watched by 672,000, QI (8:00pm) grabbed 530,000 and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell (8:30pm) was watched by 655,000.
