Ogilvy Melbourne fills long-vacant ECD slot with Richard Ralphsmith

Ogilvy Melbourne has filled its long-vacant ECD position with ex-CHE creative director Richard Ralphsmith.

Following a six-month search, Ralphsmith was plucked from Ogilvy’s Sydney office where he has been working for some months.

Ralphsmith takes over from Michael Knox, who moved to Grey in May.

His role will cover creative output across the entire Ogilvy Melbourne office, which includes brands Badjar Ogilvy, OgilvyOne, DTDigital and Designworks.

Ralphsmith’s career includes stints at M&C Saatchi Sydney, London and New York, and Batey in Singapore. He has worked on brands including Mercedes-Benz, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Schweppes, McDonald’s and Nando’s.

Ogilvy Australia CEO Andrew Baxter said: “Not only is Richard a proven and award-winning creative, but he understands how to work collaboratively across a number of specialist areas which is a vital component within the Ogilvy model. We’re looking forward to him joining our successful team and bringing his energy and creative enthusiasm to a range of our clients.”
