Omnilab Media appoints Ted Gregory deputy chair

Omnilab Media has elevated board member Ted Gregory to deputy chair of the board.

Grahame Mapp, Chair of the Board of Omnilab Media is pleased to announce the appointment of Ted Gregory, as the Board’s Deputy Chair.

Mr Gregory is a highly respected leader in the Australian entertainment industry and his appointment comes at a time of significant growth and achievement for the group.

“For more than four years Ted Gregory has been an excellent contributor and adviser to Omnilab Media as a member of its Board. Particularly, he has shared with us his broad knowledge, and insight for melding creativity, innovation, technology and excellence in business management. His appointment to the Deputy Chair position acknowledges him as a significant leader in the group and his critical role in ensuring the continued successful development of the business,” said Grahame Mapp, Chair Omnilab Media Board.

Mr Gregory commenced his career as a Producer/Director at GTV9 in the early years of television, and moved quickly into leadership positions within the industries of television, film, music, advertising and digital media. His peers describe him as a visionary – creative and passionate about his work and the industry, as well as innovative, strategic and supportive of his managers and staff.

He has driven significant projects in emerging technologies including electronic home entertainment, interactive training, and retail point of sales systems. He has also been involved in the development of state-of-the-art digital distribution systems based on satellite and fibre optic applications.

“Additional to Ted’s board responsibilities will be his interim leadership of the Playroom which is Omnilab Media’s broadcast and distribution services division, and is one of Australia’s most innovative within the television and new media marketplace,” said Christopher Mapp, Managing Director, Omnilab Media. “Ted will be a key decision maker in leading the development of its forward strategy which includes the recruitment of a General Manager and their seamless transition into the business,” he said.

Ted commenced his career at AAV Australia approximately 30 years ago. He helped grow the business from a small video production facility in 1974 into the world-class media services business that it is today. Mr Gregory was the Managing Director of AAV from 1979 through to 2005. AAV included Digital Pictures which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Omnilab Media.
