One Green Bean wins Nike Australia account

NikePR agency One Green Bean has won the Nike PR account for Australia, the first time the sportswear brand has appointed a single PR agency to manage the areas of running, training and sportswear.

The account is a major win for the agency, which recently expanded to the UK with the opening of a London office. One Green Bean has a core team of six assigned to work on the business reporting to Nike Pacific public relations and communications manager, Cara Norden.

“After an extensive pitch process, we were impressed by One Green Bean’s unique approach to PR which aligns well with our ethos to bring inspiration, innovation and authenticity first and foremost across all our audiences,” said Norden.

“We’re excited to work in partnership with the agency and look forward to evolving stories, building on the brand and creating some great content together.”

One Green Bean’s founder and global executive creative director, Kat Thomas said: “Nike was one of the first brands to recognise the opportunity and potential of creating brilliant content,” she said.

“The magic is that they understand the power of content that is designed to spread, not simply to sell; a principle we wholly subscribe to. We’re thrilled to be onboard and can’t wait to get fully immersed.”

One Green Bean said it would create a Nike dedicated showroom for media at its Sydney Office and plans work closely with the Nike PR team.

The agency first partnered with the Nike in July 2014 with a one-off project for the launch of the Nike sponsored Western Sydney Wanderers new home-and-away jersey.
