Ooh Media hires ARN’s Jamie Wood to lead Queensland sales team

Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) sales director in Queensland will now lead the state’s sales team for out-of-home operator Ooh Media.

Wood has been in radio sales for over a decade, working across markets including Brisbane and Adelaide. He began leading the Brisbane sales team at ARN in 2015.

Wood has an extensive radio sales background

Ooh Media’s chief sales officer Tim Murphy said the timing of the appointment was fortuitous, as people and advertisers begin to return to the outdoor market.

“We’re encouraged by the speedy rebound of audiences in some areas, having noticed a definite uptick in market activity over the last few weeks,” Murphy said.

“Bringing Jamie in at this juncture will enable us to capitalise on this upward momentum and engage with agencies and advertisers in really purposeful ways over the coming months.”

Wood said he’s looking forward to leading the team and driving its commercial success.

“There’s no doubt the past few months have been challenging for everyone, but I’m excited to harness Ooh’s unrivalled offering to continue to build the business and deliver market-leading results for our clients and agency partners,” he said.

“We will be focused on increasing our market presence and driving operational excellence across all aspects of our sales operations in order to realise the full value of Ooh in the Queensland market.”

Outdoor advertising bookings made via media agencies were down 71.1% in May, according to SMI figures, making it the hardest hit medium behind cinema’s 79.0% decline.
