Opr promotes Jacquie Potter to managing director role

WPP AUNZ’s PR arm Opr has promoted Jacquie Potter to the role of Melbourne managing director.

Potter was previously Opr Melbourne’s business director for a year, joining the agency from fellow WPP agency Howorth Communications.

Potter has been promoted to managing director

“There is no better place than opr to develop your career. Ever since I joined Howorth as a graduate in 2006, the business has attracted some of the industry’s best talent and an enviable group of clients to work on. It’s an energising and inspiring place to work and I look forward to leading Melbourne’s team through its next growth phase,” Potter said in a statement.

The promotion comes a year after Opr Melbourne’s managing director Adam Vincenzini departed the business to join Icon Agency Melbourne.

Vincenzini now leads Icon Agency’s new specialist content offering and played a role in launching the agency’s Canberra office.

Richard Brett, CEO Opr, added: “I am thrilled Jacquie has accepted the role of Melbourne’s Managing Director. I believe very strongly that when senior positions become vacant we look to promote internally before we look outside the business.

“It is Jacquie’s incredible client skills, drive and passion for the business that made her the obvious choice.

“Her tenacity in finding, building and responding to opportunities is inspiring and her ability to convert and build her clients and the agency’s reputation is excellent. This bodes well for the continued success of the Melbourne team this year and beyond.”

Potter’s new role comes just weeks after Ogilvy PR rebranded to Opr, dropping the Ogilvy name.

Potter and WPP have been approached for comment.
