Optus appoints marketing directors to consumer and mobile operations

Optus has appointed Jim Jaques as marketing director for its consumer business, and brought in former Vodafone executive Hugh Humphrey into a new role created to drive its enterprise mobile business.  

Jim JaquesJaques replaces Anthony Hearne who has moved to Virgin Mobile to take up the position of head of marketing.

Jaques has had 20 years of consumer marketing experience and has held senior roles with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bell Mobility Cellular and Visa International.

Meanwhile, in Humphrey’s new position he will be responsible for creating integrated enterprise mobility offerings for Optus’ corporate and government customers.

Prior to joining Optus, he worked in the consulting arms of PricewaterhouseCoopers and later IBM. More recently he headed up Vodafone Australia’s Business Markets team where he was responsible for enterprise products, segments and brand covering SME and government sectors.

John Simon, managing director, Optus Enterprise and Business Group, said: “Hugh will be responsible for managing an integrated sales and product marketing function within Optus Business enabling greater focus.”
