Optus One80Project returns

optus180Optus will once again run its One80Project, designed to help a future TV talent make a career breakthrough.

The project is a collaboration with MTV Networks and looks for 180 second pilots which it will provide $180,000 of production funding to turn into a one hour TV show.

Last year’s winner was Christian Van Vuuren, otherwise known as the Fully Sick Rapper.

Van Vuuren said: “The Optus One80Project is great proof of how many solid ideas and young, outgoing creative minds we have here in Australia and we couldn’t believe we won. The judges from the One80Project were amazing and took the time out of their days to offer advice, introduce us to people and steer us in the right direction. We just finished shooting the pilot and couldn’t be happier with the quality of work and the team of individuals that we got to work with.”

The deadline for the pilot and treatment is January 14. There is also a $5000 prize for the best pilot filmed on a mobile phone.
