This underlines the idea magazines were dying before the Internet came along to speed the process. As an ex-magazine editor, I noticed there were ever-increasing pressures from advertisers to play dishonest with readers. It took a long time for the bond of reader trust to be broken, but now it has happened, I suspect it isn’t repairable.
