Outbrain locks in partnerships with Bauer And Pacific Magazines

Premium discovery platform Outbrain has locked in partnerships with Bauer Media and Pacific Magazines.

The announcement:

Outbrain, the world’s leading premium discovery platform, today announces partnerships with Bauer Media and Pacific Magazines, Australia’s two leading magazine publishers. Together with an existing partnership with News Life Media (part of News Corp), this gives Outbrain a dominant market position across the Women and Lifestyle categories.

As a result of these partnerships, Outbrain’s Discovery technology is now implemented across most of Australia’s most popular premium Women’s and Lifestyle brands including Cosmopolitan, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Women’s Weekly and Woman’s Day, and Gourmet Traveller. This comes in addition to Outbrain’s existing network of magazine titles from News Life Media, including Vogue, Taste, GQ Australia and Buro247.

Australia continues to be one of the company’s most critical markets, with today’s announcement building upon Outbrain’s long-lasting relationship with the country’s leading publishers, such as NewsCorp, The Guardian and MSN. Christian Fricke, Managing Director for Bauer Xcel Media ANZ said: “We looked at various options and chose to work with Outbrain because of their focus on audience experience and ability to deliver the best personalisation technology in the market.

“Moreover, the Outbrain platform comes with tools and capability to maximise both engagement and revenues, as well as providing valuable data and insights.”

“Outbrain gives publishers the flexibility and control needed to surface quality content, create a premium user experience and maintain precious reader trust. As the digital media industry has become increasingly complicated, user-first principles remain clear and simple to our team at Outbrain,” said Sigrid Kirk, VP of Engage at Outbrain. We’re pleased to partner with Bauer Media, Pacific Magazines, and News Life Media and to deliver technology that has the potential to not only advance their market position, but support them to deliver superior monetisation and engagement for their audiences.”

“Outbrain’s ability to provide tools and technologies that focus on audience engagement and deliver powerful insights and analytics has been a key driver in our decision to work with them,” commented Prue Cox, Commercial Director, Pacific. ‘Investing in technology and innovation is central to our digital strategy and remains a key priority. We are confident that Outbrain will drive increased user engagement, power a deeper understanding of our properties and core digital users, while at the same time maximising opportunities for monetisation of our audience through a native experience.”

Outbrain continues to demonstrate significant momentum with publishing partners both locally and globally. The company currently serves 250 billion personalised content recommendations every month and reaches in the region of a billion unique visitors from across the globe.
