Content referal platform Outbrain has promoted local boss Ayal Steiner to a regional role in a shake up of its management in APAC

Under the changes the general manager of Outbrain Australia and New Zealand takes over responsibility for the Asia region from Sydney while Anthony Hearne, the firm’s regional director for Southeast Asia, India and new markets, moves to a global sales and marketing role in New York.

An Outbrain spokewoman said: “Our goal is to consolidate our regional and global leadership in order to allow for greater efficiencies and to accelerate growth. As such, Ayal will be overseeing the entire region.”

Part of Steiner’s role will be to build a new leadership team in APAC with “specific competencies on the APAC region” the spokeswoman said.

Steiner said: “Asia Pacific is a mobile-first, digitally smart landscape and I look forward to working with brands and publishers across the region to drive growth further.”

Outbrain said the senior moves reflect “accelerating business growth” with head of Outbrain International, Eytan Galai, insisting it will help “build additional scalability and further support our regional leadership, while ensuring tighter collaboration across our global offices”.

Hearne, who has spearheaded the Asia business since January 2015, claimed Oubrain has only “scratched the surface of content marketing”.

“There is much work ahead of us as we continue in our efforts to advance digital marketing and help major brands navigate and connect with consumers at scale through content,” he said.
