Outdoor company Goa marks a move into NSW with two senior hires

Out of home company Goa Billboards has appointed Dan McConochie as National Sales Director and Shae Bonney as NSW Sales Director.

The announcement:

Whilst the media industry is facing unforeseen circumstances, Queensland-based and family-owned Goa Billboards is on the front foot creating new opportunities. The company has shown its commitment to business growth with the appointment of Dan McConochie as National Sales Director and Shae Bonney as NSW Sales Director.

Goa CEO and Joint MD, Chris Tyquin said the company’s investment strategy has been market-leading for over 30 years.

“Although the industry is currently facing its biggest challenge, our investment is stronger than ever with the appointment of these new roles. Our balance sheet is strong and every week we’re fielding multiple approaches from people coming to us with growth opportunities.

“The appointment of Dan and Shae will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and relationships, as well as new energy, into our business and help us capitalise on these opportunities. Having two experienced and quality professionals joining the team will supplement our growth strategies.

Both roles will be Sydney-based, and Dan and Shae will work with Goa’s long-time sales agent, Shipley Brown. Dan will be taking on a national focus, inclusive of sales activity in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, whilst Shae will devote his energies to the Sydney agency and direct markets.

The Tyquin family’s involvement in the outdoor industry goes back to 1935, and Goa Billboards has been operating in the Queensland market for almost 40 years. It’s strategy has been to develop market dominance in large format within South East Queensland, focusing heavily in digital where it has the largest billboard screen network, consisting of over 50 digital billboards and an audience of well over 1 million people each day.

“Part of our journey going forward is to broaden our presence beyond Queensland and I expect most of our investment into the future will be in line with this strategy,” said Tyquin.

“I’m excited at both the rate and quality of new sites we’re acquiring. It’s clear we’re still to face some economic challenges, however Goa is very well positioned to capture new opportunities, and having Dan and Shae as part of our team will enable agencies to maximise their client’s investments in our regions.”
