OzHarvest teams up with new social planning tool in its launch campaign

Screen Shot 2013-11-12 at 3.42.33 PMNot-for-profit organisation OzHarvest has teamed up with new social planning tool TheBestDay in its launch campaign which will see every dinner planned on www.dinnergiver.com translate into a donation to OzHarvest.

The announcement:

New social planning tool TheBestDay has teamed up with OzHarvest to make your next meal with mates matter. For every dinner planned on www.dinnergiver.com, TheBestDay will donate a dinner to someone in need.

OzHarvest Founder Ronni Kahn today said “We waste close to a staggering eight billion dollars of food each year in Australia.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with TheBestDay to give people a fun, easy way to help us on our mission to reduce food waste and provide more meals to vulnerable Australians” said Kahn.

Online start-up TheBestDay allows users to set options for date, time and venue, and invite friends to vote – cutting out the back-and-forth and ‘maybe’ responses, putting the fun back into organising group get-togethers.

“We’re a home-grown start-up so what better way to launch than to reward Aussies for having fun dinners and by giving back to the community” said TheBestDay Founder Whitney Komor.

To help give 10,000 dinners, head to www.dinnergiver.com and invite your friends to dinner.
