Packed To The Rafters is viewers choice to watch later
Packed To The Rafters is the TV show which has seen the greatest uplift in audience this year after time shifted viewing has been added to its rating, an analysis of OzTam numbers suggests.
So far this year, the feelgood family drama has averaged an uplift of 143,310 viewers, or 7.6%, once the timeshifted audience over the seven days that followed the broadcast has been factored in.
This is the first year that such information has been available, following changes to the OzTam system to account for viewers who catch a show in the seven days after broadcast. In order to count as a viewer for OzTam, only those who do not fast forward through the show or ad breaks are included in the consolidated numbers.
Meanwhile, of shows with maisntream audiences Seven’s The Amazing Race was among the biggest uplifts – up 21.7%.
According to the OzTam data, so far only two shows this year have had a bigger audience on catch-up than they have on broadcast – both of them on Nine’s digital channel Go.
Fringe had an overnight audience of 19,610 but catch-up viewing amounted to 26,325 – an increase of 134.2%. And The Vampire Diaries had a rise of 118.3% on its original 19,315.
