Palace to open new complex in Sydney

Independent exhibitor Palace Cinemas has announced the opening of a new eight-screen cinema complex at Green Square Town Centre near Sydney airport, set to open in late 2012.

“We believe the residents who live in and around the Green Square area will greatly appreciate having their own quality local cinema which will showcase the best in international cinema.  Palace has been keen to expand in Sydney for some time and this location offers a wonderful opportunity,” said managing director and founder Antonio Zeccola.

The complex is part of a plan to revitalise South Sydney, with retails and entertainment spaces, as well as new residential and commercial buildings. It will be Palace’s fourth venue in Sydney; it currently operates the Verona (Paddington), Norton Street (Leichhardt) and the Chauvel, following the loss of the Academy last year.
