Patts Melbourne wins Heinz Beanz and soups business

GPY&R has been awarded two major advertising projects for Heinz.

The agency’s Melbourne office was chosen ahead of Leo Burnett to the Beanz and soups business.

There was no formal pitch, with the client selecting from a shortlist of agencies.

Michelle Scalzi, group manager of marketing services at H.J. Heinz Co Australia told Mumbrella that Patts had proved to be the “best fit” for the brand.

GPY&R will work on two upcoming projects – to develop an equity building Heinz Beanz communication campaign, and an integrated campaign for 2012 ‘Soup season’.

Heinz works with a roster of agencies appointed on a project basis.

Campaigns by the advertiser in recent months include the ‘Squeeze the truth out of ketchup’ ads for Heinz Tomato Ketchup by BD Network. Marmalade has worked on Heinz’s soups business.

Last year, Heinz appointed Grey to run projects for its shelf-stable fish brand
Greenseas and all of the company’s beverage brands, which include Golden Circle and LOL.
