Seven’s Janeen Faithfull appointed CEO of Southern Star
Television production company Southern Star has appointed a new CEO after the resignation of Rory Callaghan in January.
Janeen Faithfull, currently head of content and rights management at Seven, will take Callaghan’s place at the Endemol-owned company.
Faithfull comes to Southern Star with 28 years of experience in the TV industry and 15 years at Seven.
In her role as head of content rights management at Seven, Faithfull was responsible for IP across all platforms, domestically and internationally. Faithfull had been in the role at Seven since 2009.
Prior to her arrival at Seven, Faithfull was vice president of business affairs at Columbia Tristar Television in the US.
Faithfull will report to Martha Brass, MD of international operations at Endemol Group.
Brass said: “Janeen is an outstanding executive with over two decades of senior management experience in commercial television. Her expertise spans broadcasting, development, production, distribution and exploitation, working both in Australia and the US and across both scripted and non-scripted genres. We are thrilled to have someone of her calibre to take Southern Star into its next chapter of growth.”
Callaghan’s end date and Faithfull’s start date has not yet been announced.
This year, Southern Star’s slate includes new Offspring, the mini series Puberty Blues for Ten, Nine’s World Series Cricket and Paper Giants: Magazine Wars.
