Paul Plowman appointed CEO of Hill+Knowlton
Public relations firm Hill+Knowlton has appointed Paul Plowman, a former director of communications for Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett as its new CEO.
Plowman is an experienced operator in the corporate and government relations sector and brings to the firm a new client the largest franchiser of restaurants in Australia Competitive Foods Australia Limited, owned by Jack Cowin.
“Hill+Knowlton Strategies is one of the world’s leaders in public relations and I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities of further building the H+K business throughout Australia,” said Plowman.
“H+K has a strong public affairs team. I know we will maintain the momentum in our other strong industry sectors particularly FMCG, food and beverage and health.”
The current managing director Sue Cook, who has been in the role for the past two years, is to move to Hill+Knowlton’s London office to take up the role of managing director of the group’s healthcare and medical knowledge group.
Cook stepped up after the departure of CEO Michelle Hutton to rival agency Edelman, a move which triggered a legal battle with H + K parent company WPP.
