Have You Been Paying Attention? gets ratings bump after Thai offence publicity
Ten’s comedy game show Have You Been Paying Attention? enjoyed a 100,000 ratings bump last night one week after the network apologised for jokes made on the show about the death of the King of Thailand.
The show managed 766,000 viewers at 8:40pm, up on last week’s 661,000 viewers, and topped the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics. However, it came second in the time slot to Seven’s The Secret Daughter, which attracted 836,000 viewers, down marginally on last week.
It was also buoyed by an improved audience for Survivor, which concludes tonight, which lifted to 750,000 viewers at 7:30pm. It was third in that slot behind Nine’s The Block (946,000) and Seven’s The X Factor (756,000).
Nine’s local drama Hyde & Seek managed a small bump at the 8:40 time slot, managing just 656,000 viewers last night.
News dominated, with Seven managing 1.017m at 6:00pm and 1.015m at 6:30pm, and Nine 908,000 at 6:00pm rising to 910,000 at 6:30pm.
That news performance helped Seven win for both primary channels and overall network share ahead of Nine, as ABC edged out Ten.
Two of Seven’s multi-channels, 7Two and 7Mate, also managed to out-rate SBS last night with 4.4% and 3.9% audience share to 3.7%.
