Pedestrian to become Tinder’s ‘match’ in re-seller deal

Australian youth publisher Pedestrian TV will become the local sales representative for online dating platform, Tinder.

Under the new agreement, Nine-owned Pedestrian TV, will act at Tinder and Match Media Group’s local sales representative for advertising solutions.

Tinder’s local representation will be run by Pedestrian’s national advertising and partnerships team, who will encourage local brands to advertise to Tinder’s user base, through branded profiles, sponsored messages, native display, native video and polls.

Brian Florido, commercial director at Pedestrian TV, said Tinder’s platform provided a focused environment which was delivering outstanding results for brands.

“We’re excited to deliver everything that Tinder has to offer to Australian advertisers and combine it with Pedestrian’s market-leading creative capabilities and reach to create a truly unstoppable marketing solution,” Florido said.

Roly Elliott, regional vice president of sales for Tinder and Match Media Group, said Pedestrian was a “natural fit” to represent Tinder’s millennial audience and native ad solutions in the Australian region. It is the first time Tinder has launched a partnership of this kind in Australia.

“Their local expertise and existing relationships with advertisers will be valuable in growing our presence in market,” Elliott said.
