Pedestrian.TV rebrands to Ped-Yes-trian for postal vote

Pedestrian.TV has rebranded its digital properties as Ped-Yes-trian, until the conclusion of the same sex marriage postal vote.

The rebrand will take place across all Pedestrian content on both desktop and mobile, and is estimated to be seen across more than 10m pages of the site throughout the duration of the initiative.

It comes a month after Pedestrian.TV teamed up with other youth publications, including Vice, Broadsheet, Junkee and FBi Radio, blacking out its website and encouraging young Australians to enrol or check their enrolment details ahead of the postal plebiscite for marriage equality.

The website also is currently running Marriage Equality Australia advertising across its site.

Chris Wirasinha, co-founder of Pedestrian.TV said the initiative was a “small gesture” of support for the LGBTQIA community.

”As Australia’s largest youth publisher, it’s important for us to continue reflecting our strong belief that  all Aussies deserve the right to marry whoever they choose to love,” Wirasinha said.

“Re-branding the site for the duration of the vote is a small gesture to show our support for the LGBTQIA community, many of whom are our readers, staff and family, and to remind people the only answer is ‘YES’.”
