Pedestrian TV’s Selfish Sessions to go virtual
Pedestrian TV’s selfcare festival, Selfish Sessions, will go ahead virtually in 2021.
The announcement:
Hot off the sell-out success of Pedestrian TV ’s national self-care festival Selfish in Sydney and Melbourne over the last two years, Pedestrian Group – Australia’s largest youth-focused publisher – will be taking the third iteration of the event online in 2021.
Selfish Sessions – running virtually from 24 to 26 February – will reflect on what self-worth means to young Aussies, focusing on long-term strategies to improve their intellectual, emotional and creative wellbeing off the back of a tumultuous 12 months.
The stacked Q&A lineup (with more to be announced) includes:
- Dylan Alcott OAM, Grand Slam-winning tennis player, presenter and disability advocate
- Brooke Boney , Today Entertainment Reporter + proud Gamilaroi Gomeroi woman
- Abbie Chatfield , reality TV star, author and podcaster
- Splendour in The Grass co-founders Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco and Secret Sounds’ Evan Davis (+ a top secret musical guest)
- Sophia Kaplan , indoor plant specialist at Leaf Supply

- Leah McSweeney , star of The Real Housewives Of New York
- Marlee Silva Tiddas 4 Tiddas author/founder + proud Kamilaroi/Dunghutti woman

James McManus, Pedestrian Group’s Creative Director, says: “2020 shrunk our readers’ world to four walls overnight and challenged their approach to self-care. Addressing how they value sex, workplace equality, ‘trash TV’, finance, astrology, music, mental health and more, this global Selfish Sessions line-up nails the passions and pinch points of Gen Z Aussies right now.”
Pedestrian TV will announce the final line-up and schedule for Selfish Sessions – supported by ANZ, Lovehoney and mental health partner Mood – in early February.
The event will be co-hosted by Pedestrian TV fam and friends, including LGBTQIA+ rapper Jamarzonmarz and Pedestrian Group’s Alex Bruce-Smith and Kate McGregor.
