McWilliam’s Wines former digital marketing director Chris Maloney has joined Pernod Ricard Winemakers as the global eCRM and eCommerce, with the company also appointing PPR to handle a global brief with the aim of raising the company’s profile among corporate and industry influencers across key markets.

Maloney joins Pernod Ricard Winemakers following two-and-a-half years at McWilliam’s Wines where he was responsible for designing and implementing a marketing strategy encompassing websites, mobile, e-commerce, CRM, search, social and content marketing.

In his new role at Pernod Ricard Winemakers  Maloney is responsible for the implementation of the global eCRM and eCommerce strategy across the company’s portfolio including Jacob’s Creek, Wyndham Estate, Brancott Estate, Stoneleigh and Campo Viej0.

It comes as the wine company taps PPR following a competitive pitch as Pernod Ricard seeks to grow its presences in key markets.

PPR Australasia executive director Michael Pooley said: “We’re really excited to lead this global brief and are looking forward to helping grow awareness and understanding of the brand’s exceptional wine portfolio among key influencers in Pernod Ricard Winemakers’ target markets.”

Pernod Ricard Winemakers communications director Claire Haigh said: “We selected PPR as we wanted an agency with a worldwide network that could deliver a broad communications mix in line with our ambition to be the world’s leading global premium wine business. We were really impressed with the team’s strong corporate understanding and focused approach to reach influencers in diverse markets in an efficient way on the ground.”
