Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) Mix 94.5 has leapt into first place in the Perth radio market as of GfK radio survey eight – the final one for the year.
The station gained 2.3 percentage points in total people for a 13.6% audience share overall, knocking previous top dog Nova 93.7 off the perch. Nova fell 0.7 percentage points to 12.6% overall.
However, Nova held strong in the key timeslots, keeping its breakfast crown with a 14.1% share for Nathan, Nat and Shaun, a 0.3 percentage point drop from survey seven. Mix rose 1.4 percentage points to hold 12.6% overall and second place, ahead of ARN’s 96 FM’s 10.6% – a 1.1 percentage point rise. 96 FM now has Botica’s Bunch for Breakfast, while Mix has the ‘The Big Breakfast with Clairsy, Matt and Kymba’.

Mix 94.5 grew 2.5 percentage points to take second place with 13.7% overall for The Rush Hour with Dave, which runs from 3-5pm, and Kennedy Molloy which airs from 5-7pm. 96 FM grew 0.8 percentage points for 9.7%, and Hit 92.9 jumped 0.6 percentage points to 12.7%.

Triple J grew again in total people, rising 1.9 percentage points to 8.7%. 6PR dropped 0.7 percentage points to 6.9% in the market overall. The station, which sits under parent company Macquarie Media, recently lost its commercial director Gordon Hill in the shakeup during Nine’s takeover.
