Perth radio ratings: Mix extends lead over Nova on strong breakfast showing

Mix has extended its lead over Nova in the Perth radio market with a 15.6% audience share in the first GfK ratings survey for 2019, up 0.8 points from 2018’s final survey, giving the station a comfortable lead over Nova’s 12.2%.

During the survey, which ran from January 20 to March 2, Nova fell back 1.5 points to finish with a total share of 12.2%, ahead of the ABC’s Triple J’s 11.0% and Hit’s 9.4%.

Mix led across the day with the breakfast team of Dean Clairs, Kymba Cahill and Matt Dyktynsk taking 15.1% of the city’s audience, up 1.8 points for the survey.

The Mix combination overtook Nova’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun, which slumped 1.7 points to finish with 13.2% of the morning audience, ahead of ABC Perth’s 10.9% and 6PR’s 9.3.

The drive time slot saw a tight race, with Mix’s drive line up picking up 1.0 point to take a 14.6% share, beating out Nova’s Kate, Tim and Marty who slumped 2.0 points to 14.4%.
