Perth radio ratings: Nova 93.7 grows position as outright market leader
Nova 93.7 has strengthened its market-leading position in Perth, with the station holding significant leads overall, on breakfast and in drive.
In a relatively quiet survey, and despite the significant number of new shows in market, Nova’s consistency seems to be paying off, as the station climbed 0.2 percentage points to a 13.5% share.
Its closest competitor, Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix 94.5, lost share to fall 0.7 points to 11.9%, while Australian Radio Network’s 96FM grew 0.4 points to hit 11.1%.
Meanwhile, Nine Radio’s 6PR grew its audience slightly, up 0.2 points to hit a 9.5% – and reached its best cumulative audience in 15 years.
Nathan, Nat and Shaun increased their lead on breakfast by 0.1 points to reach a 15.0% share, a dominant performance by the heritage show.
Behind them is Mix 94.5’s Pete, Matt and Kymba, steady on 12.1%, followed by Gareth Parker on 6PR with 11.3% (down 0.6 points). In fourth sits 96FM’s The Bunch with Clairsy and Lisa Shaw, who hold 10.0% despite slipping 0.4 points.
The biggest riser, both on breakfast and overall, was ABC Perth. The national broadcaster was up 1.1 points overall to 8.1%, with Russell and Nadia up 0.7 points in breakfast to 9.7%, landing in fifth spot.
Nova’s Kate, Tim and Joel sprinted to a whopping 17.1% share on drive, rising 1.9 percentage points and now rating a massive 4.4 points ahead of #2 show in the slot.
That spot is occupied by Mix 94.5’s Carrie and Tommy, who hold a 12.7% share, ahead of a rising Will and Woody who jumped 1.9 points to hit 12.0%.
