Perth radio ratings: Nova wins breakfast and drive again

Nova 93.7 once again takes out the top spot for People 10+, breakfast, and drive in the fifth GfK metro ratings survey of 2022, with SCA’s MIX 94.5 coming in second place again.

96FM, which came in third place, experienced a slight decline in numbers, down 0.5% to a 9.8% share.

Coming in last overall was ABC News Radio at 0.8%, reflecting an ongoing trend.

In breakfast, Nova’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun led the way again with 20% of the segment share. They saw a boost of 1.6% in the ratings this survey, a continued climb upwards after survey four and three saw them claim 18.4% and 15.7% of the share, respectively.

Mix 94.5’s Pete, Matt & Kymba, trailed behind at 11.2% (a decline of 0.7 since the last survey), followed by 96FM at 10% – who have usurped ABC PER, taking third place in breakfast.

ABC NEWSRADIO once again came in last this month in the breakfast category, declining again in listenership to 1.0%, down from 1.3% last month. Other losses were seen in 6RN, who dropped down 1% in the breakfast slot to 1.4%, and ABC PER, seeing a decline of 3.2% down to 7.7%.

Nine’s 6PR’s Breakfast with Gareth Parker saw a continued positive boost upwards after first experiencing an incline in survey four – the slot saw a 0.7% increase in listenership, at 9.3%.

In drive, Kate, Tim and Joel continued to hold the majority listenership, capturing 17.3% of the overall share, a higher rate of listenership than last month by 0.5%. Nova was followed by Mix 94.5’s Carrie and Tommy, which boasted 12% of the market. Following first and second place in Drive were 96 FM and 6JJJ, the latter of which knocked ABC PER to fourth place, at 10.3% and 9.2% respectively.
