Perth to host XMediaLab 2011

The digital media conference XMediaLab will reach Perth in 2011, with the theme Storytelling in a Digital Age and focusing on how to tell a 21st century story, get it produced and reach an audience.

The event director, Megan Elliott, said that Western Australia’s relationship with Asia gives it a unique place to become a global centre for digital media.

Elliott and XMediaLab co-director Brendan Harkin will be in Perth for a free briefing session on August 13, at the Art Gallery of WA, Perth Cultural Centre. rsvp@screenwest.wa.gov.au

This year’s edition of XMediaLab was presented in Sydney and Melbourne. The Perth version will be supported by the Department of Culture and the Arts, WA Museum, ScreenWest, Murdoch University, ABC TV and Screen Australia.
