CPR launches green consultancy offering

Photon has spun off a specialist sustainability offering from CPR Communications. Called CPR Sustainability, the agency will be run by Sophie Hughes as general manager, who joined CPR in November last year.

Hughes, who has worked with Al Gore on the Climate Project in Asia and with clients Marks & Spencer and Procter & Gamble in the UK, said that the time was right to launch a sustainability specialist in Australia.

“Regardless of whether the carbon tax comes in now or next year, it is time for Australian businesses to commit to and develop sustainability strategies which ensure their long-term competiveness in the global marketplace,” she said.

CPR Sustainability will initially tap Photon clients for business, and will look to sibling agencies such as Naked Communications “to marry specialist marketing communications skills with knowledge of sustainability best practice,” Hughes added.

As well as managing stakeholder and govermment relations, the agency’s services include supporting organisational sustainability programmes, such as business auditing and priority mapping, and engaging employees and supply chain partners.
