Mark Pinney joins OMD WA from Meerkats as strategy head

OMD Western Australia has recruited Mark Pinney from brand strategy agency Meerkats as head of strategy. At Meerkats, Pinney was director of channel planning, working on clients including iiNet, HBF and Murdoch University.

“Our approach is as much about creating our own insights and research locally as it is extracting and feeding-in knowledge from the wider OMD network,” said Adam Marshall, MD of OMD WA.

“This combination of thinking is something which will continue to develop and evolve with Mark’s appointment.”

Over a 12-year career, Pinney has spent the last six years in Perth. He has also worked in media, full service and media owner roles in Sydney and London on accounts such as Sony, Vodafone and Siemens.

Meerkats planning director Ronnie Duncan commented: “We snuck Mark away from Adam [Marshall] when they were both heading up Maxus, so we can’t be huffy about Adam doing the same to us now.”
