Pixma – the product of choice for pushy mums
Who knew that the pushy mums market was so attractive?
Canon clearly likes them for its Pixma printer.
First came this cringeworthy effort which has now been around for a couple of years or so:
But the new ad from Leo Burnett may be an improvement, but why the proud mum schtick again?

What do you do when you’re an uninspirational marketing department with too much money?
Spend it on a first tier advertising agency only too happy to charge you too much money to create, quite possibly, the worst video tutorials of all time.
If they have to spend all that money (and I guess they do, otherwise accounts won’t give them such a big budget again next year), couldn’t they at least take a leaf from Apple’s book and make some video tutorials that are actually useable?
Or, let’s face it, they could have got the interwebs-savvy intern to create a bunch of screencasts/home videos that would have been a bazillion times easier to follow than that garbage.
I’m sure these ads tested really well with a bunch of mums more interested in the free booze and food.
