Play in management reshuffle

Experiential marketing agency Play has promoted client services director Shani Langi to MD.

The announcement:

Experiential marketing agency PLAY Communication has restructured its management team with Client Services Director, Shani Langi, moving into the permanent role of Managing Director, taking the operational reigns from Co-Founder Johannes Weissenbaeck. Langi joined PLAY in early 2010 after eight years marketing experience in both agency and Client-side roles, and stepped in as PLAY’s Acting Managing Director in July 2011 while Weissenbaeck took extended annual leave. In her 18 months with the Sydney-based independent agency, Langi has lead a 15-strong Account Service team and directed relationships with Clients including Optus, Kimberly-Clark, COTY, McDonald’s and Beiersdorf.

Weissenbaeck’s new role as Founder and Director, sees him continue in the Client-facing position of Strategy Director and will afford him a stronger focus on the overall strategic direction of the PLAY business. Of the restructure Weissenbaeck said: “We have big plans and this restructure will allow us take the business to the next level. To move Shani into this role has been part of our strategic plan for over a year. She has big ambitions for PLAY and has certainly made her mark, both with clients and internally”.
