PlayStation Australia has recruited Australia’s biggest family, the Bonell’s, to explore the capabilities of the Playstation 4.

Created by One Green Bean, the campaign features the daily lives of the Bonell’s who are trying to keep the household of 16 children entertained over the Christmas season.

The video shows the capabilities of the PS4 and its entertainment services, including Netflix, Stan, Foxtel Play, ABC iView and Spotify for Playstation music.

Ray Bonell, father of the family, said the PS4 allowed his whole family to be happily entertained.

Jen Bonell, mother of the 16 children added the family did not know the capabilities of a PlayStation before receiving the product.

“It has definitely helped us keep everybody entertained in our big brood,” Bonell said.

“We love streaming movies and TV shows together, whilst some of our older kids like to take time out for gaming.”

The content will be rolled out over PlayStation Australia’s online and social feeds.

As part of the campaign, PlayStation also unveiled new research on streaming entertainment in Australian family homes.

Topline figures reported 74% of parents stream movie and TV content for entertainment purposes, while one in five Australians use a PlayStation to watch catch-up and stream video on demand.

The study also claimed 46% of Australian dads controlled the remote control, while mums controlled the remote 32% of the time and children 19% of the time.

Michael Ephraim, managing director of Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia and New Zealand, said the device offered a variety of opportunities for families over the holiday period.

“PlayStation 4 really does offer something for everyone and tuning in to your favourite entertainment service has never been easier thanks to the recent launch of the officially licensed Universal Media Remote for PS4, the perfect stocking-filler for any PlayStation 4 owner this Christmas.”
