Pluto TV launches in Australia with 51 FAST channels on 10 Play

Paramount’s free ad-supported television service Pluto TV launched yesterday through 10 Play, with 51 channels added to the network’s streaming platform.

The stations include dedicated channels to a number of shows, including South Park, Beverly Hills 90210, Happy Days, and I Love Lucy, eight MTV channels, six Nickelodeon stations, and a number of genre-based offerings.

Pluto TV has been a long time coming to Australia, having launched in the US in early 2014, and across 35 other markets since.

Paramount’s parent company CBS bought Ten in 2017, but 10 Play only waded into the FAST channel game last December.

“These 50 Pluto TV channels represent our first step to engage with Australian audiences and we are happy to mark this milestone by partnering with 10 Play, demonstrating once more the strength of our Paramount ecosystem,” said Olivier Jollet, executive VP and international GM for Pluto TV.

“As pioneers in the FAST industry, we are bringing a new and unique user experience through curated channels dedicated to this market. Our mix of local and international content which matches the needs of our local audiences is what makes Pluto TV so valuable for viewers, clients, and partners across the world.”

10 Play has seen a 21% jump in minutes viewed this year, compared to 2022 – the addition of 51 channels will no doubt bolster these numbers further.

“It gives 10 Play a unique and strong point of difference in the Australian market that will build on nearly a decade of insights gathered from delivering alternate viewing experiences,” said Jarrod Villani, executive VP, chief operating and commercial officer and regional lead, Paramount Australia.
