P&O Cruises VP of sales, marketing and PR Simon Cheng departs

P&O Cruises vice president of sales, marketing and PR Simon Cheng is departing the business after around eight years with the company.

Cheng joined Carnival – which owns P&O – in November 2008 as a marketing director and was promoted to director of marketing and distribution in March 2014 before moving into his current role February last year.

He is leaving the cruise industry to join the health and wellness sector, joining health food retailer Healthy Life as chief marketing officer.

Cheng said: “I’ve been fortunate to have played a part in the phenomenal growth story that is cruising. 20% growth YoY for the nine years I’ve been involved. The health and wellness sector shows similar promise and Healthy Life is positioned well to lead this charge as a major player in the wellness retail space.”

Current director of sales Ryan Taibel will take on Cheng’s role in the interim.

Carnival Australia is currently the hunt for a new public relations agency across five of its brands including P&O Cruises.
