Podcast Ranker: Hamish and Andy back on top, Matt and Alex on the burst
Hamish and Andy have the most popular Australian podcast, according to the March edition of Triton’s Podcast Ranker.
The comedy duo started their 2024 season in March, due to the government-mandated podcasting break, which may or may not be an officially sanctioned holiday.
They’ve jumped to the top spot from sixth — quite a good placing considering they released no new episodes during February — bumping Casefile down to second place.
Mamamia Out Loud held its third placing, while Shameless dropped down from second to fourth, with The Imperfects leaping from 13th to fifth.
Interestingly, the Kyle and Jackie O podcast slipped from fourth to seventh ahead of its Melbourne radio launch at the end of April, while Life Uncut slipped from sixth to seventh.
Given Brittany Hockley has spent all of April in the jungle as part of Ten’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, it will be interesting to see if her co-star Laura Byrne can hold the fort for the month, ratings-wise.
The biggest mover was SCA’s Matt & Alex – All Day Breakfast, which jumped 66 spots to land at #25. Also for SCA, Triple M Footy AFL jumped 64 spots to sit at #34.
