PPR partners with King Content

PPR has signed a strategic partnership agreement with content marketing firm King Content to offer clients integrated owned and paid content marketing.

The announcement:

Australian founded global PR brand, PPR, continues its evolution to a multi-channel communications consultancy with the signing of a strategic partnership with Australia’s leading content marketing firm, King Content.

The deal, which will enable clients of both agencies to access award winning content and communication strategy and execution, marks the next step in PPR’s journey to become Australia’s leading owned, earned and paid communications specialist.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PPR Asia-Pacific, Richard Lazar, said the partnership reflects the fundamental shift in the way brands are communicating with their audiences.

“For some time PPR has seen the need for brands to become media companies in their own right. To do that they need a communication strategy that breaks down the traditional barriers between owned, earned and paid content. This means taking a channel agnostic approach, where content and context are king and where written, audio and visual communication are combined to reach their target audience.

“PPR’s partnership with King Content, globally recognised leaders in content strategy and management, plus our recent investment in video production and distribution capabilities, social, digital and e-channel marketing solutions will set us apart in the market.

“It will enable PPR to offer an integrated owned and paid content marketing solution for our clients that can dovetail into our traditional service offering of earned media.”

Under the agreement King Content’s team of 1500 writers and editors will provide strategy and campaign management and execution to PPR’s 500 clients across Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

King Content works with brands including NRMA, American Express, CBA and Yahoo and was recently voted the 2012 Content Marketing Agency of the Year at the prestigious Orange Awards in the USA.
King Content CEO, Craig Hodges, was excited at the relationship and felt that the growth of the content marketing segment was reflected in this strategic partnership.

“King Content has been in growth mode for some time now which is highlighted by the expansion of our client list and the opening of an office in Singapore recently. The development of a strategic partnership with a company of the calibre of PPR ensures that our growth will continue. It also shows that the content marketing segment locally is reaching a level of maturity.”

The partnership builds on PPR’s recent investment in its own in-house film production team and full editing suite enabling fast video production and distribution.

In addition similar partnerships with digital development and e-channel marketing solutions agencies mean clients can see PPR as a full service communication and marketing consultancy.

“The last 12 months have represented one of the most exciting periods in our 40 year history. As well as considerably expanding our offering, the recent announcement of our global expansion means we can offer brands a full service offering wherever they are in the world,” Richard Lazar said.

In March PPR announced its international expansion with offices in New York, Washington DC and San Francisco. In addition to serving clients throughout Asia-Pacific and North America, PPR intends to open its European operations within the year. Latin American operations are scheduled to begin in early 2014.
