PR agency Hotwire has appointed Alexis Wilson as Australian managing director following the departure of Suzanne Hewitt, with the appointment coinciding with the agency unveiling a rebrand.

Wilson joins the agency after six months with Next Ventures Consulting as managing director. Prior to that, she had a 10-month stint as a senior account director with Ogilvy PR/Howorth and also spent four years in New York as the director of communications for UrbanDaddy and account director roles at Edelman and RF Binder.

“Hotwire is a really a young, fresh and exciting PR agency that has global ambitions. I’m really pleased to be on board,” Wilson told Mumbrella.

Hotwire Australia provides media relations and social media consulting to local client Cisco, as well as driving local programs for Hotwire’s global clients such as Indeed and Shazam.

On her plans for the agency Wilson said: “We hope to double in the next two years in the Australian market. I’m going to be driving that through our international clients that we service in Australia. We also have a host of Australian only clients, Cisco is one of those. I also see an opportunity for Hotwire Australia to act as an APAC hub through our affiliate networks, I’m really excited to see those plans go through.”

The agency’s rebrand aims to demonstrate “Hotwire’s adventurous thinking”, with the logo evolving into a more elaborate, colourful version of the old version to reflect that.

“The refreshed brand is a new look at Hotwire’s DNA. The idea behind it is that we’re playful, intelligent and bold. The new logo is a great new platform for Hotwire to be talking about our unique take on communications,” Wilson said.

According to the agency, the refreshed brand “showcases how Hotwire provides multi-discipline, integrated communications through enhanced services including public affairs, design and build, insights and analytics, corporate reputation, SEO and content marketing”.

The brand’s refresh has seen the reintegration of digital sister agency 33 Digital under the Hotwire brand.

“33 Digital was originally part of Hotwire. It was then set up as an additional business, we then reintegrated it,” Wilson explained. “33 Digital is now completely under the Hotwire umbrella, as it was to start with.”
