Princess Eugenie’s Royal wedding attracts 1.060m viewers

The Royal wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank saw one of the biggest Friday night TV ratings for Seven, with 1.060m metro viewers and 1.459m national viewers tuning in to watch the ceremony.

Airing as a Seven News Special, Princess Eugenie’s wedding ceremony was the most watched program of the evening with the pre-wedding coverage, which aired at 7pm, attracting 370,000 metro viewers and 593,000 nationally.

Princess Eugenie’s wedding pulled in 1.060m metro viewers

The second Royal wedding of the year didn’t managed to beat Seven’s coverage of the wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which saw an average of 1.95m metro viewers tune in.

However, the ‘Seven News Special: Royal wedding – Princess Eugenie’ did help Seven to a massive overall audience share of 31.1% for Friday TV.

Seven clearly beat its competitors in overall audience share as Nine saw a 12.1% share, followed by ABC’s 10.8%, Ten’s 10.1% and SBS’ 3.7% share.

Meanwhile, Nine’s best performing program of the evening was Nine News at 6pm which managed 746,000 metro viewers while Hot Seat was its highest rating non-news program with 450,000 viewers.

Ten’s best performing program was The Living Room which brought in 409,000 metro viewers.
