New Idea recruits psychics

New Idea is turning to the spirit world in an attempt to boost readership, with the signing of mediums Allison DuBois and John Edward.     

The announcement:

Monday 9th August, 2010 – In a coup for New Idea, world-leading psychic mediums Allison DuBois and John Edward have joined the magazine, offering personal readings and responding to questions from New Idea readers in new regular weekly columns.

Allison DuBois has assisted US law enforcement agencies for over a decade, using her psychic abilities to help resolve difficult police cases involving missing persons. Her amazing story inspired the hit television program, Medium, starring Patricia Arquette, which will soon air its seventh season.

Allison says she is thrilled to be partnering with New Idea in this Australian publishing first.

“New Idea is the first Australian magazine that I have tied my name to,” Allison said.

“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to share my experiences with the other side, as well as the living, with New Idea readers.”

John Edward became a household name following the popularity of his television show and live tour, Crossing Over with John Edward. The program showcases John’s supernatural ability to make contact with those who have passed away, and provide messages to loved ones ‘from the other side’.

Amy Sinclair, editor, New Idea, says the partnership is a groundbreaking one. “This partnership will give New Idea readers exclusive access to both John and Allison, through their readings and advice featured each week in the magazine.

John and Allison’s first columns for New Idea will appear in this week’s edition of the magazine, on sale today
