Publicis sustainability firm, Salterbaxter appoints new managing director

Publicis’ sustainability consultancy, Salterbaxter, has looked within the group’s stable for the role of Australian managing director.

The company has elevated Stu Wragg from chief strategy officer, also welcoming sustainability specialist Tess Ariotti as lead consultant – advisory.

Wragg is a founding member of the Salterbaxter Australia team, having spent the last nine months as chief strategy officer, at the same time holding the same title at Publicis PR agency, Herd MSL.

Mumbrella understands Wragg will continue his remit at Herd MSL alongside the new role at Salterbaxter.

Skye Lambley, CEO of Salterbaxter Australia and Herd MSL ANZ said: “Stu’s focus is on leading Salterbaxter given the increasing need for sustainability strategy and engagement consultancy in Australia. Sustainability is a top priority for many of our clients at Herd MSL and as such, Stu remains on the Herd MSL Executive Team and will continue to play a strategic role for key clients.”

Publicis launched the sustainability consultancy into the Australian market in August, under the leadership of CEO Skye Lambley. Also on the launch team, alongside Wragg, was Karen Dunnicliff and business transformation consultant, Rebecca Zemunik.

Also joining the business is sustainability specialist Tess Ariotti, who has 15 years of in-house experience in building and implementing CSR and sustainability strategies and programs for Samsung, Allianz Insurance and Westpac Group.

Of the appointments, Lambley said: “Salterbaxter is a mission-driven consultancy at the service of sustainability. Our combination of specialist know-how and creative expertise means we’re well placed to help businesses drive the sustainable progress stakeholders increasingly expect and our planet and people urgently needs.

“Tess is a builder and implementer of credible corporate sustainability strategies and programs. Her learnings and insight on what it takes to activate change within multi-faceted businesses has fast become a valuable asset to our offering.

“Stu has proven himself to be a strong consultancy leader and skilled strategist, with a knack for helping businesses cut-through complexity. We can’t wait to see what magic he weaves for our clients as they navigate the challenges and complexity of evolving their businesses for a sustainable future.”

Wragg added: “From building locally focused but globally aligned sustainability strategies to helping connect and empower employees to drive the action leaders need, we’re all about helping businesses drive the credible and creative ambition, action and engagement that’s needed to create value for all.”

Lambley and Salterbaxter global managing director, Kathleen Enright, joined the Mumbrellacast in October to discuss the consultancy’s plans to help brands bring credibility and creativity to sustainable strategy in Australia.
