Trade body Publishers Australia has launched its call for entries for this year’s awards.
The announcement:
Publishers Australia announced today the 2011 Excellence Awards are now open for entry.
The Excellence Awards, now in their 15th year, attract entries from large to niche publishers around Australia.
PA Chairman Geoff Hird said, “Following the great success of last year’s Excellence Awards, we are again expecting to break the record for entries in 2011. For the first time, we welcome the involvement of the Magazine Publishers Association (MPA) members, and have developed several categories for their over 50,000 circulation magazines. The Excellence Awards recognise publishers and publications which are innovative, engaging with their audiences and advertisers and thriving across consumer, business and custom publishing.”
Claudia Sagripanti Publishers Australia CEO said, “Reflecting changes in the industry, we’ve introduced four new categories this year including Best Mobile or Tablet Application, Best Association Magazine, Best Integrated Media Brand and Innovation – new best practice or innovation in print. We have implemented a two-step judging process with preliminary judging and then a final judging day. We are also delighted to welcome back Steve Allen, Managing Director of Fusion Strategy as the Chairman of the Judging panel. The winning entries will be announced at the Excellence Awards Gala dinner on Friday 11th November which is the finale of the inaugural Magazine Week featuring local and international speakers, case studies and workshops on a wide variety of leading edge topics on the business of magazine and digital publishing.“
