The Qantas Wallabies have sent an "open letter to any fan of Australian rugby" asking them how much they want to win in a new campaign from Asics ahead of the 2016 international rugby season.

The Qantas Wallabies have sent an “open letter to any fan of Australian rugby” asking them how much they want to win in a new campaign from Asics ahead of the 2016 international rugby season.

In the one-minute long TVC a moody voiceover challenges fans set to images of players including Israel Folau, Kurtley Beale and Stephen Moore taking part in workouts like running up a big flight of steps asking “do you want it more than taking the lift?”.

The spot by Infinity Squared ends by telling them “if you really want it, pull on the gold”.

The World Cup runners up face a three-test series with England in June as well as the Rugby Championship showdowns with New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina later in the winter.

Full back Folau said in a statement that this theme is “perfect for our squad” as it embodies the team spirit central to the sport. “We know that as a playing group, the harder we work both as individuals and as a team the more we can achieve.”

Asics Oceania managing director Allan Russell said he wants the campaign to celebrate “the passion our fans have for the game and the players’ determination to drive themselves harder every time they train or hit the field”.

The advertising campaign will be delivered through TV, print and online platforms, as well as sponsored events.
