QLD Youngbloods launches creative brief program for students with BADC
QLD Youngbloods is teaming up with BADC (Brisbane Advertising and Design Club) to present this year’s student brief competition.
The announcement:
BADC and QLD Youngbloods are inviting all students and recent grads yet to enter the industry, to take a shot at this year’s BADC Student Brief. The goal? To attract more diversity to the Advertising field.
The competition is eligible to full/ part time students or those who have graduated in 2022 and not yet working in the industry, with no previous experience required.
QLD Youngbloods co-chair, Elle Whittaker said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young and upcoming creatives to show the industry what they’ve got and solve a real problem in our industry…”
The brief asks the question: How do we attract more diversity into the advertising industry? Alongside this is the proposition that better diversity and inclusion lead to better advertising.
QLD Youngbloods co-chair, Nethmee Goonesekera said: “This is a wonderful brief that highlights a crucial issue in the industry that we look forward to seeing reviewed critically and creatively.”
Local creative directors will judge the competition and the entrant with the best response will win a trophy on the evening and recognition from some of the best in the business.
“This is a fantastic way for the next generation in our creative community to introduce themselves and gain exposure as their work will be judged by a panel of Brisbane’s creative leaders,” BADC president Stuart Myerscough said.
“The brief addresses ways of bringing more diversity and inclusion into the industry which is just so important. We’re very much looking forward to seeing the responses from an up-and-coming cohort of creatives.”
The deadline for the competition is 11:59 pm Tuesday 11th October 2022, with competition open to Queensland residents only. You can find the brief here.
