ABC commissions new political comedy
The company that produced the comedy At Home With Julia has been commissioned to make late night comedy show Wednesday Night Fever.
The series will be screened on ABC1 mid-year and will continue the theme of political satire the previous series was known for.
At Home With Julia – featuring the fictional home life of the PM and her partner Tim Mathieson – was a relative ratings hit.
While the cast has yet to be announced, Rick Kalowski, creator and executive producer, said local and international politicians and other public figures will cop a skewering.
He said in a press release: “Defamation lawyers contemplating a first class ski trip to Aspen should book with confidence. This is your year.”
Greg Quail, executive producer, said: “We’re still searching for performers willing to join the witness protection program right after the first episode goes to air.”
