QUT: the university for the real world
Queensland University of Technology has unveiled the latest ad in its ‘university for the real world’ series, with a story of an engineering graduate filmed on location in Cambodia and Oxford.

The agency behind the ad was BCM.
“James [Tilbury, featured in the ad] is a talented young guy using his Engineering degree to affect real change in the world,” said managing partner Kevin Moreland. “His story is inspiring and exciting but nothing is contrived – so he’s the perfect brand hero for QUT.”
The ad is a follow-up to the spot featuring a QUT business graduate working at Tribal DDB in New York.

In recent campaigns, QUT has used QR codes to activate its prospectus and augmented reality to target first-time uni students.

I’m a big fan of these ads. A lot of the unis talk about real world experience etc but this goes a step further to prove it and gives prospective students something to aspire to. If I were a student I’d certainly be excited about going to QUT.
