Radio ratings: 2GB’s loyal listeners turning off AM and heading to FM
2GB has long dominated Sydney’s airwaves, but after losing first place last survey to KIIS, it’s now the two ‘golden oldies’ stations that are ruling the roost in Sydney.
Sydney
2GB lost a 0.4% share this survey, while KIIS slipped back into third spot, after taking the crown last survey.
WSFM takes top station in Sydney with 10.9% of the listenership, followed by smoothfm, with 10.3%. Could it be that 2GB’s loyal listeners are discovering their wireless can be switched over to the fangled new FM band?
Kyle and Jackie O’s ratings in Melbourne make them the most overpaid breakfast team in Australia’s history. A $10M annual salary for a 5% share (and $10M for Sydney). I guarantee ARN that I could get a 2% share in Melbourne for only $300 000 a year. Call me. Anytime. I can start in January.
