According to the new numbers from GfK, youth-focused national music station Triple J saw a major switchoff in the 18-24 age group. Triple J saw its audience in that demographic fall from a 29.7 per cent share to 23.8 per cent.

Triple J’s overall share of the Monday to Friday audience fell from 12 per cent to 9.7 per cent, which saw it slump from Perth’s second most listened to station to its fifth.

Local station ABC 720 also saw a fall, dropping from joint second most listened to station to fourth. ABC Radio National’s share fell to 1.7 per cent. And ABC News Radio remained bottom station with a share of 1.1 per cent in Perth.

Meanwhile, Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix 94.5 retained its number one position, while the station’s Clairsy, Shane & Kymba show grew its audience from 13.8 per cent to 14.3 per cent. The trio replaced Fred Botica and Lisa Shaw at the start of this year. SCA head of content Craig Bruce told Mumbrella: “It was a potentially difficult transition but it has gone very well.”

Nova remained second and 96 FM third.
